Data within Open Book is organized by visualization cards. There are four ways the data can be viewed (amount, percentage, summary, and history).
- Amount: Displays data in a bar chart format
- Percentage: Displays data in a pie chart format
- Summary: Displays numbers in a table format
- History: Shows how data has changed over time utilizing a line graph format
In order to “zoom in” or “drill down” within a category, hover over the desired category and click. More details will then be displayed. You can also hover over a graph or chart within the Amount, Percentage, and History tabs to view numerical values.
The view below is defaulted to explore by spending category. In order to see allocations by college, click on one of the bars within the chart. Then go to Explore By and use the drop down menu to select “area breakdown” and click on the academic affairs chart graphic to drill down into each college.
