In compliance with the Clery Act the campus must maintain a Daily Crime Log. The purpose of the daily crime log is to record all criminal incidents and alleged criminal incidents that are reported to the campus police. The crime log includes specific information about criminal incidents, not crime statistics and not an all inclusive police activity report. The Crime Log includes the following five informational items:
- Date and time reported;
- Nature of the crime(s);
- General location;
- Date and time occurred;
- Current disposition of the crime(s);
The Crime Log is open to public inspection, free of charge, upon request, during normal business Hours (M-F 8:00 am – 5:00 pm excluding holidays) at the Cal Poly Police Department located at 1 Grand Ave. Bldg 36 San Luis Obispo, CA 93407 in the front lobby.
