General understanding of the reasons a permit is required and the permit process.

Activities Requiring a Building Permit:

  • Any furniture installation
  • Activity that will disturb any building surface (interior or exterior) Any activity with temporary membrane structures, tents, or canopies
  • Any activity that may add, alter or modify ADA requirements Awnings and trellises
  • Building additions, alterations, remodels and/or tenant improvements
  • Electrical, mechanical, plumbing or building additions or alterations
  • Equipment installation requiring more than plug and cord
  • Security & intrusion alarms including keypads, card swipes, panic buttons etc.
  • Signage installation, modification or removal
  • Garden walls and retaining walls
  • Landscaping and related improvements or modifications, including drainage
  • Patios, decks and fences
  • Activities involving building or roof structures

In this NEW one stop shop session participants will learn all about how to properly procure a new vehicle, how to make sure all your drivers have the right forms and training, and what’s needed to keep your vehicle going for all your departmental needs. Come join our panelists and let us dispel the mystery around state vehicles (including carts!) with helpful tips and more!

Keep it Safe! Information Security and Shredding Services

Securing Cal Poly's data and network resources is everyone's responsibility, learn what information Security is and why it's important. Learn about data classification and how to protect the data and properly destroy it. The session will conclude with trends the information security team see daily and offer a variety of tips and tools you can use.

Audience: Anyone who handles sensitive data, has a general interest in cyber security or protecting your personal information.
