Becoming a Credit Card Merchant at Cal Poly
To add a new (or alter an existing) credit card acceptance channel for your department, you must first obtain authorization from the Director of Fiscal Services. Credit card acceptance channels have both setup and ongoing costs. To be authorized, all proposed credit card acceptance channels must be deemed cost effective.
Departments accepting credit card payments must comply with PCI DSS requirements, therefore all credit card acceptance channels must be designed with those requirements in mind. If you are unfamiliar with the PCI DSS requirements, please visit: Credit Card Acceptance.
To apply for authorization to set up a new (or alter an existing) credit card acceptance channel, fill out this authorization request and submit it to Thomas Bourne at firstname.lastname@example.org (phone: 805-756-5924).
Cal Poly Fiscal Services will review your application and propose the PCI-DSS compliant credit card acceptance channel setup best suited to your department's needs.
