Where Do Student Residents Of Poly Canyon Village Retrieve Their Mail And Parcels?

Mail and parcels received for student residents of Poly Canyon Village are available in two separate locations based on the items size as well as whether the items required a signature upon delivery. Mail parcels including large envelopes are available in the resident's mailbox, while large packages are available only through the Canyon Post Mail Center's Front Desk. Signature waivers are not recognized by couriers delivering parcels to Cal Poly and thus can not be recognized by Cal Poly staff. Items that require a signature are available at the Canyon Post Mail Center's Front Desk.

Items Located in Resident's Mailboxes

Most items sent through the United States Postal Service are received at Canyon Post, sorted, and placed in the appropriate mailbox. All correctly addressed mail is processed and delivered same day. If the item was shipped using one of the following services, your item can be found in the resident's mailbox:

  • USPS First Class
  • USPS Media Mail
  • USPS Priority Mail
  • USPS Delivery Confirmation
  • FedEx SmartPost
  • UPS SurePost

Note: Use the above services at your own risk.

Distribution Services assumes no liability for items lost when using any of the aforementioned services for the following reasons:

  • Items using the 'Delivery Confirmation' service are scanned as delivered well before leaving the United States Postal Service sorting facility which in no way indicates correct delivery dates, times, or whether the item has ever reached campus. In addition, some items using the 'Delivery Confirmation' service never receive an actual delivery scan by the USPS.
