Cal Poly Operational Status: This is a notification from Poly Alert: Grade Fire – Cuesta Grade You may have received a Wireless Emergency Alert from the County of San Luis Obispo. Fire crews are responding to the Grade Fire east of Highway 101 on the Cuesta Grade, north of San Luis Obispo. An evacuation order is in effect for an area east of Highway 101. The Grade Fire is not impacting the Cal Poly campus at this time. Cal Poly Emergency Management is monitoring the incident. Traffic: Northbound Highway 101 is experiencing significant traffic impacts through the Cuesta Grade due to emergency response operations. Travelers should expect delays. Alternate Route: Travelers who need to reach the Paso Robles/North County area may use Highway 1 north through Morro Bay and Highway 46 east to reconnect with Highway 101. This is a significant detour; allow additional travel time. Updates will be provided if conditions affecting Cal Poly change.
