Campus Update: Accessibility Mapping with Autonomous Robots
This fall, Cal Poly will launch an accessibility mapping project in partnership with Bureau Veritas (BV). From September 22 to October 17, 2025, three Daxbot autonomous robots will scan over 31 miles of campus roads and pathways.
The robots will evaluate the “Path of Travel” – routes a person with a disability could use to reach campus buildings and facilities. Their findings will help identify barriers and guide updates to Cal Poly’s ADA Transition Plan, supporting efforts to make the campus more accessible.
