A collections agency utilized by Cal Poly Transportation and Parking Services erroneously mailed out collections notices to a number of customers.

Temporary Medical Permits

Temporary Medical permits are available only with approval from the Disability Resource Center (DRC).

Important: Link your permit

If approved for a Temporary Medical permit, it is your responsibility to contact Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) to link the permit to your account. This permit is valid only when accompanied by a valid Cal Poly permit.

Parking allowed at any time

  • Staff locations, not including Staff 24/7 locations
  • Staff locations in residential structures
  • Commuter locations, including the Grand Avenue Structure
  • Outlying lots

Parking is never allowed

  • ADA spaces without a placard
  • Longer than the posted time limit in a timed zone
  • 24/7 spaces
  • Yellow state vehicle spaces
  • Red zones, including no-parking zones
  • Tech Park
  • Overnight parking
  • The Health Center or Children's Center without a pass and a valid permit

Limited-time zones

  • You must make an additional payment to authorize your vehicle to park in these spaces.
  • Use the ParkMobile or Pay By Phone app.
  • These spaces are marked with green curbs and are not the same as Sponsored Guest spaces.
  • Start your session before leaving your vehicle to avoid a citation.

Parking allowed only after 5 p.m.

  • Sponsored Guest spaces

With a Cal Poly permit and ADA placard

  • ADA spaces
  • Staff spaces
  • Sponsored Guest spaces
  • Residential spaces
  • Limited-time zones without additional payment; you must still have a valid Cal Poly permit

Helpful information

  • DRC Tram service is available to eligible students Monday-Friday, 6:45 a.m.-7 p.m. Summer hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Temporary Medical permits do not authorize you to occupy an ADA space.
  • Your license plate must be visible to License Plate Recognition (LPR) software. If you do not have a front plate, park head-in.
  • Parking garages have a 7-foot clearance.
  • Do not leave a vehicle unattended in a loading zone.
