Staff Learning Community

The Staff Learning Community (SLC) is a volunteer group of Cal Poly Staff employees that want to share and learn from each other. The mission of the group is to share best practices, resources, engage in professional development, and support and guide one another. The SLC generally meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. All employees are welcome. If you are a staff employee at Cal Poly, you are a member of the SLC by coming to a meeting! Visit our Wiki Page to learn more about our mission, see upcoming workshops, find resources from previous workshops, and get involved by volunteering to host or present!

As a department, we encourage you to keep safety in mind and submit a service request whenever you see something that doesn't look quite right on campus. We'll dive into who we are as a department, how the service request/work order management system works and how FMD supports staff, faculty, and students. Facilities Management and Development (FMD) provides ongoing building & campus-related services, operations and maintenance activities required for ongoing, routine operations, and maintenance of buildings. Operations and maintenance activities include the routine work necessary to keep state-supported facilities, utility infrastructure, roads and grounds in good repair, appearance, and operating condition.
