Bahar Vasli
Bahar is a second-year Environmental Earth and Soil Science major from Santa Monica, California. Always inspired to help protect the environment, Bahar has been involved with making an impact in the community around her through waste reduction, growing nutritious foods, and having clean water and air. Being involved in her high school’s award-winning club, Team Marine, and leading a Garden Club allowed her to voice her passion for making positive changes like creating small community gardens around her. She loves being in nature, camping, gardening, hiking, or taking soil samples during labs. Having an understanding of our Earth systems and the precious finite resources on Earth, Bahar is strengthening her studies focusing on Soil Health and Sustainable Agriculture. She wants to spread knowledge and awareness of our Environment and natural systems in order to rekindle our connection with nature. In addition to being a Zero Waste Ambassador for the Cal Poly Green Campus Team, she’s also currently a member of the Cal Poly LEAD Scholars, in an effort to carry out a separate year-long sustainability project.
