Staff Learning Community

The Risk Management Driver Safety Program, Property Accounting Office, and University Surplus have established new procedures in an effort to streamline and create more efficient processes and faster approval times. The Driver Safety program establishes rules and regulations for Cal Poly employees and students who drive for university business and is in place to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers. The new web-based Driver Safety Program enables users to complete the required training and application process on their own. The presentation will include an overview of major changes to the program and process, focusing on the new Risk Management Driver Safety webpage; self-service training; enhanced application where user selections trigger necessary forms and support documents; driver approval letters; and the ability to access a list of all drivers approved through Risk Management. New procedures for the disposal of state property have the intent of streamlining and speeding up the process for campus property coordinators while improving accountability of state property after disposal.

The Staff Learning Community (SLC) is a volunteer group of Cal Poly Staff employees that want to share and learn from each other. The mission of the group is to share best practices, resources, engage in professional development, and support and guide one another. The SLC generally meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. All employees are welcome. If you are a staff employee at Cal Poly, you are a member of the SLC by coming to a meeting! Visit our SharePoint site to learn more about our mission, see upcoming workshops, find resources from previous workshops, and get involved by volunteering to host or present!
