AI Playtime: Get Curious, Experiment, and Build Confidence
Artificial Intelligence is evolving quickly, and figuring out where—or whether—to begin can feel overwhelming. This beginner-to-intermediate workshop takes a practical, human-centered approach to AI, with ChatGPT as the primary tool and examples from other AI platforms. Through demonstrations, discussion, and hands-on exploration, participants will discover ways AI can support everyday work, creativity, career development, and personal well-being—from drafting and brainstorming to working with documents, data, images, and other content. Rather than trying to keep up with every new AI tool or feature, participants will learn strategies for starting small, experimenting safely, improving results through prompting and context, and developing their own judgment about when AI is—and isn't—the right tool. The session will also explore the human side of AI adoption, including common hesitations, the importance of making space for experimentation, and balancing the efficiencies of AI with opportunities to exercise our own creativity, critical thinking, and skills. Participants will leave with practical ideas they can adapt to their own roles and greater confidence to continue learning as AI evolves.
