CSU Leadership Academy

In creating a culture of leadership, the CSU aims to:

  • Develop professionals for current and future leadership roles.
  • Build cross-campus communities for productive dialogue across diverse disciplines.

  • Broaden perspectives on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
  • Embrace the challenges of higher ed leadership.

The Leadership Academy is a customized CSU program that blends research-based leadership best practices with CSU values, goals and priorities. In line with our mission, the Leadership Academy fosters a culture of inclusive, collaborative learning where leaders engage in group discussions, personal reflection and individual coaching to develop personally and professionally.

Program Details

Participants: AVPs, Deans, Directors, Senior Directors
Upcoming Dates: July 17 - October 9
Curriculum: Ten virtual sessions, individual coaching, psychometric assessment, collaborative team project
Approximate Cost: $1,000 per person (all costs and materials included)

Supplementary Sessions

Following the initial 10-session cohort experience, Leadership Academy participants are invited to attend occasional Lead & Learn sessions offered throughout the year. These sessions bring together members from all cohorts to continue learning, strengthen connections, and explore emerging leadership topics. Participation in these ongoing sessions is optional but encouraged to support continued development.

Participation in the CSU Leadership Academy is by nomination from the President/President’s Office. Please contact your appropriate administrator to express interest and request their support in initiating the nomination process.
