Crime Reporting Procedures

Cal Poly Maritime Academy Police encourages all campus members to report crimes, suspicious activity, accidents, and requests for assistance as promptly and accurately as possible.

  • Suspicious persons or activity creating an urgent safety concern

  • Unlock or lockup requests
  • Vehicle assistance
  • Safety escort requests
  • Parking permit machine issues
  • Cold crime reports
  • Lost and found inquiries
  • General police questions

Other Reporting Options

Reports may be made in person, by phone, or in writing. The person making the report does not need to prove that a crime occurred in order to contact police. Blue light phones are installed on campus for emergency-only use.

Clery Reporting

Campus security authorities who receive reports of Clery-reportable crimes should encourage the complainant or witness to contact Maritime Academy Police, and should notify police immediately if the situation indicates a possible imminent threat to the community.
