Mustang Safe is Cal Poly's campus safety app. The app provides quick access to emergency and non-emergency resources, safety notifications, virtual and friend-walk features, support resources, and options for sharing information with Cal Poly Police Department (CPPD).
In an emergency, call 911. If you are off campus, your 911 call or text may be routed to the public safety agency serving your location. App-based reports and tips may not be reviewed as quickly as a 911 call during an emergency.
Location-based features require the user's device permissions, cellular or Wi-Fi service, and GPS availability. CPPD cannot track a user's location at all times through the app. Location information is shared only when the user activates a feature that uses location or otherwise consents through the app settings, subject to the app's technical design and privacy terms.
The app is available to current Cal Poly students and employees using their Cal Poly credentials. Community members who do not use the app can still call 911 for emergencies and 805-756-2281 for non-emergency police assistance.
