Building Access and Security
Maritime Academy Police partners with Facilities Management, Housing & Residential Life, and IT to control access to academic buildings, residence halls, and the Training Ship Golden Bear.

All Unlock and Lockup requests must be made on the day of the event. Contact Police Dispatch to request an officer to unlock and secure doors before and after your event.

Training Ship Golden Bear Access
Maritime Academy Police personnel, augmented by the Student Watch, control and limit access to the campus by monitoring the quarter deck leading into Training Ship Golden Bear. Students, faculty, and staff are issued the Cal Poly Maritime Academy Port Pass Identification Card upon enrollment or employment, and it is required for access to the Training Ship at all times.
Academic and Administrative Buildings
Academic building keys are administered by Facilities Management.

After-hours access requires written authorization from the appropriate department head, or prior arrangement with the appropriate administrator and Maritime Academy Police. Contact Police Dispatch at (707) 654-1176 for after-hours access.
Residence Halls
Residence hall key access is controlled by the Office of Housing & Residential Life and the IT Department. Cal Poly Maritime Academy offers four traditional residence halls — Upper, Lower, McAllister, and Maritime North — providing on-campus housing for all students. Access is limited to residents, escorted guests, and staff.
Residence Hall Officers (RHOs) reside in the halls and on the ship and are on duty:
- Weeknights: 8 p.m. – 8 a.m.
- Weekends: 9 p.m. – 8 a.m.
