Bicycle Patrol

Cal Poly Police Department (CPPD) bicycle patrol officers help provide visible, accessible, and flexible police services across campus. Bicycle patrol allows officers to move through areas that may be difficult to reach quickly by vehicle, including pathways, plazas, crowded event spaces, and parking areas.
Bicycle patrol supports community policing by making officers more approachable and by allowing them to observe and respond to safety concerns at the campus level. Officers may provide education and enforcement related to bicycle, skateboard, scooter, pedestrian, and traffic safety.
Community members can support safety by following posted traffic and dismount rules, using lights and helmets where required or recommended, locking bicycles securely, registering property, and reporting hazards or collisions promptly.
