Custodial Services

Facilities Operations Custodial Services team is responsible for all state supported university facilities. We strive to maintain a clean, welcoming, safe environment for all students, staff, and visitors. As we adjust to campus repopulating since the start of the pandemic, our services have continued to shift and change. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we work to meet the needs and expectations of our campus community.

Cleaning Frequencies and Tasks

CLASSROOMS, RESTROOMS, LABS

Daily
- Empty trash receptacles
- Disinfect surfaces
- Refill all dispensers
- Vacuum or dust mop traffic lanes and visible soil
- Spot mop non-carpeted floors

RECEPTION, COMMON HIGH-USE AREAS, AND FRONT OFFICE

Daily
- Empty trash receptacles
- Disinfect surfaces
- Vacuum or dust mop traffic lanes and visible soil
- Spot mop non-carpeted floors

EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR STAIRWELLS

Daily
- Remove litter and debris
- Spot clean
Weekly
-Dust building surfaces
-Spot clean building surfaces
-Vacuum or dust mop traffic lanes and visible soil
-Sweep or blow off the exterior

PRIVATE OFFICES

Monthly
- Dust and spot clean building and furniture surfaces
- Vacuum completely
- Dust and damp mop non-carpeted floors

Please note that receptacles in private offices are not serviced. Community collection stations for disposal of trash and recycling are available in the hallways of most buildings.

For inquiries beyond the scheduled custodial scope listed above, please contact the Facilities Help Center at 805-756-5555. Our team is happy to help coordinate additional cleaning services such as window cleaning, moving, and event support on a recharge basis.
