Boat Basin and Pier Expansion

Project Summary:

A project planned and managed by the Chancellor's Office in which improvements are required to home port and operate (NSMV-V) Training Ship Golden State (TSGS). Project will support cadet/student training for Cal Poly Maritime Academy programs. TSGS is provided to the Academy by the U.S. Department of Transportation Maritime Administration (MARAD) and includes a significant funding source for this project that is narrowly focused at supporting TSGS. Project will replace existing in-water infrastructure with a new pier, two mooring dolphins and inner boat basin wave screen. Landside improvements include an electrical switchyard, security booth and minor upgrades to the marine yard.
