Why do Cal Poly employees have to pay for parking?
The concept of "pay for parking" on campuses of The California State University is at the direction of the State Legislature and is based on the knowledge that parking facilities must be paid for by the user. All CSU campuses have this same requirement. The money collected for parking permits reimburses the state for costs of constructing, operating and maintaining parking facilities. More information about TAPS policies can be found in our Rules and Regulations.
